Disregarding the fact that Halo 3 was released on Wednesday - netting Microsoft a cool $170 million in the US alone in just one day - this week's line up of new releases "belongs" to THQ, with no less than five games out across different formats. Juiced: Hot Import Nights, Conan, Moto GP 07, Bratz The Movie and Ratatouille to be specific. We can't vouch for their quality, but it's not often that a publisher pushes out so many titles all in one go. Unless it's a budget publisher, but they only do that to save on distribution costs. The skanks. This week's biggie though, again ignoring Halo 3, is FIFA 08. Don't actually ignore Halo 3 though - it's ruddy good! The Wii version of FIFA 08 would appear to be the one to go for - EA has added loads of extras, including a Footii Party mode presented by a Mii take on Ronaldinho.

Providence proves right at the line
Forward Frank Murray scored a game-high 14 points, and reserve center Tom Barry sank four free throws in the final minute as host Providence Catholic rallied for a 56-52 victory Tuesday night over Lincoln-Way Central. With 19.5 seconds remaining in the game, Barry broke a 51-all deadlock with a pair of free throws. After each team split a pair of charity tosses, Knights guard Alex Adams missed on a drive to the basket before Barry added two more free throws. BOYS BASKETBALL Reserve forward A.J. Woynerowski contributed 11 points off the bench for Providence (3-1). "We'll need to know who can step up in late-game situations, and it's good to learn that now," said Celtics head coach Greg Smith, whose team was without foul-plagued point guard Will Burchett for much of the way.

At The Toy Space in Toronto, owner Randal Lee stocks toys made with all-natural and sustainable materials like reclaimable rubberwood, organic textiles and vegetable dye.
How Guitar Hero Shook Gamers All Night Long
On the fateful evening of Nov. 7, 2005, as youthful little gamers dreamt with childlike wonderment at the whimsical appeal of Nintendogs and Pokemon, a sinister force in rock was almost ready to be unleashed upon the world. Headed by a game developer named Harmonix Music Studios, this monster of a title would forever change the worlds of rocking and gaming, mixing and mashing the once completely differing entities into common allies in the struggle against authority. This game, known as Guitar Hero, would come from out of nowhere to sweep the nation, spreading shock and awe as any common gaming geek could now become a rock god. Apparently Harmonix Studios struck a vein in the body of the American gaming public and created a game that capitalized on the desire to become a rock and roll superstar.

The Baxter Bulletin Christmas Wish program has a mission: To provide a nice Christmas for families with children in need. Donations of toys, clothing and money may be made at the Wish Distribution Center in the former Beuford's Bar-B-Q building in Georgetown Square. The center is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through Nov. 15 and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 20-Dec. 13. .

Augusta Lynx Weekly
Augusta, GA - The Augusta Lynx took five out of a possible eight points this week and moved up three spots in the ECHL's South Division Standings to 4th place with four games this past week. The Lynx stayed perfect at home with a thrilling 4-3 win over the 1st place Texas Wildcatters this past Tuesday. That was followed by a three-game road trip to Mississippi to face the SeaWolves. The Lynx posted their first shutout of the year on Thursday, winning 4-0 as #35 JP Levasseur recorded his first pro shutout with 27 saves. Friday, the Lynx lost a lead with :04 seconds remaining in the 3rd period and fell in a shootout, 6-5. Saturday despite a 42-19 shots advantage, the Lynx fell 3-1 to Mississippi. #19 Aaron Slattengren and #9 Louis Goulet lead the team with 16 points a piece. The Lynx face-off in Pensacola against the Ice Pilots on Tuesday before returning home to face the Mississippi SeaWolves on Friday, November 30th.
